The Japanese publisher Bandai Namco and the Tokyo-based developer studio FromSoftware (Elden Ring) have now published the official system requirements for their “Mecha-based Vehicular Combat Shooter” Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. Comparatively powerful graphics cards and processors are recommended, especially with real-time ray tracing, while the barriers to entry for current gaming PCs are not a problem.
Core i7-4790K or Ryzen 7 1800X will do
An Intel Core i7-4790K or an Intel Core i5-8400 or an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X or an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 is sufficient to get started, at least if the mecha shooter is to be played without real-time ray tracing. However, a Core i7-7700 or a Core i5-10400 or a Ryzen 7 2700X or a Ryzen 5 3600 is recommended. At least 12 GiByte of RAM should be in the system regardless of the CPU.
Geforce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 480 as a minimum
The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 and the AMD Radeon RX 480, which are at least required, also represent an easy hurdle for current systems. However, an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060, AMD Radeon RX 590 or Intel Arc A750 are recommended. Without ray tracing, Armored Core 6 is designed to be comparatively frugal. In any case, 60 gigabytes of hard drive storage on a classic hard drive or SSD is required.
Only GPU requirements increase with ray tracing – at FromSoftware
Gamers who want to enjoy Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon with ray tracing will have to own a significantly more powerful graphics card. A Geforce RTX 2060 or a Radeon RX 6600 are at least required, a Geforce RTX 2070, a Radeon RX 6650 XT or an Intel Arc A770 are even recommended. According to FromSoftware, however, the CPU requirements do not increase – at least according to the available data.
The latest part of the popular Armored Core mech series is scheduled to be released on August 25, 2023. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Players on the PC apparently expect a very special treat.
Option for 120 fps on PC
As seen at a preview event, Armored Core 6 will offer multiple framerate options. Among them is the possibility to play the title with 120 frames per second on the PC.
The starting shot is on August 24th
The latest part of the popular Armored Core mecha series is scheduled to be released on the PC on August 24, 2023, and the version for the current game consoles from Sony and Microsoft will start a day later.
