Assassin's Creed Mirage: How a lost city was recreated

Ubisoft reveals how the team overcame the challenge of recreating a lost city for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

In the final Assassin’s Creed Mirage making-of video, Narrative Director Sarah Beaulieu, Artistic Director Jean-Luc Sala, Creative Director Stéphane Boudon and historian Raphaël Weyland discuss the recreation of the living 9th-century Badgad.

Building up the city was a challenge, because almost nothing has been preserved from that time. The team drew on texts and archaeology, working with historians and experts to design the four neighborhoods with their distinct characteristics.

It was important to Ubisoft to show Baghdad from a side that is proud of its cultural heritage. With the short side quests “Tales from Baghdad” you experience cultural topics such as astronomy and literature of this epoch. We have already reported on another feature “the story of Baghdad”.

It provides an interactive way to learn more about the game’s rich setting. Check out the video here:

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released a week early on October 5th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Pre-orders will receive the bonus mission “The Forty Thieves”. The game can be pre-ordered from the Microsoft Store:
