Baldur's Gate 3: According to Metacritic the best game ever for the PC

The acclaimed roleplaying milestone Baldur’s Gate 3 from Belgian developer Larian Studios is the best game ever for the PC. This is the conclusion reached by the popular review aggregator Metacritic, which has so far accumulated a total of 28 reviews and their ratings. The classic turn-based role-playing game has so far averaged 97 out of a possible 100 points, pushing Disco Elysium into second place on the leaderboard.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the highest rated PC game of all time

While Baldur’s Gate 3 secured first place in the ranking of the best PC games of all time with 97 out of a possible 100 points, along with Disco Elysium (97), also an RPG milestone, Half-Life 2 (96), Grand Theft V (96) and Half-Life (96) points to the places, it is enough in the overall ranking of all platforms for 9th place out of 20,454 video games rated so far.

In the overall ranking of the best cross-platform video games of all time, Baldur’s Gate 3 is only behind such legendary titles as the SEGA classic Soul Calibur (98), the Xbox One version of Red Dead Redemption 2 (97) and the open-world Milestone The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (99). However, these and other titles, such as Super Mario Galaxy (97) and Super Mario Galaxy 2 (97) as well as GTA IV (98), are absolutely within reach. Baldur’s Gate 3 is thus one of the best rated games ever released across all genres.

With an average rating of 97 points and a high user score of 9.1 points based on more than 5,800 ratings, Baldur’s Gate 3 consequently leads the list of best PC games released in 2023.

Even if the release on the Playstation 5, which will take place on September 6th, can bring some movement in the overall rating of Baldur’s Gate 3, the role-playing game has meanwhile also received two further awards on Metacritic. No PC game was better and none more interesting for gamers.

Since Metacritic sorts games by platform, the PS5 port doesn’t affect the PC version’s rating, but things are a bit different on other platforms like Opencritic. Overall, developer Larian Studios is also known for good console ports.
