Baldur's Gate 3: Larian makes saves bigger with Hotfix 2.1

After two hotfixes that should solve serious problems in Baldur’s Gate 3, there is another patch for the Larian roleplaying game.

This is in Hotfix 2.1

Hotfix 2.1 focuses on savegames, after the first two hotfixes had already addressed hundreds of problem combinations. Larian writes that the roleplayers in BG3 have already done so much that the “personal history databases (where your decisions and actions are stored) have become too large”. The problem of savegame files that are too large has now been solved by setting the size to “infinite” – “or at least as infinite as your storage space allows”. This does justice to the “sheer volume of things you all do on your travels”.

In preparation for the upcoming PS5 launch in September, cross-platform saves have also been reactivated. This means that cross-saves are possible from September 6th. possible. Larian is still working on the Playstation 5 version. The Hotfix 3 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which is already in the works, should also appear before the release. It should appear in the “near future” and contain further bug fixes.

Changelog for Hotfix 2.1 for Baldur’s Gate 3:

  • Fixed an issue with saves that could occur when a save file grew too large.
  • Larian cloud saves have been re-enabled.
