Baldur’s Gate 3 is a classic RPG with tremendous branching storylines and freedom, and is currently hitting all sorts of popularity milestones. Since the D&D RPG is also playable in co-op mode, bringing it close to a real pen and paper RPG experience, players are certainly inclined to invite their numerous friends to the party. With a new mod, the restrictive party limit of four characters in total can now be further increased – even in multiplayer mode.
Very popular mod removes party limit
While Baldur’s Gate 3 originally only allowed four characters within a group, players with the modification called Party Limit Begone can raise the party limit to a maximum of 16 characters in single player. In multiplayer, the mod still increases the limit to 8 players – that should definitely be enough for a hearty old-school RPG party. The mod has already become so popular on the well-known modding site NexusMods that it currently over 50,000 unique downloads can show.
The mod “Party Limit Begone” was created by the modder Sildur (aka Sildur’s Shaders for Minecraft) and is aimed at players who find Baldur’s Gate 3 either too difficult, just experience more chaotic combat or get more dialogue between the characters want. Warning, mild spoilers: Although the game only offers ten characters with fleshed-out backgrounds for recruitment, players can also interview the enigmatic Withers to recruit more hirelings as party members.
Increasing the group to 16 members makes battles a lot easier – after all, the game has also been balanced for four characters. Furthermore, you have to start a new playthrough in multiplayer if you really want to make the Sword Coast unsafe with a total of eight players. In certain story and gameplay events minor bugs occur, but they are relatively easy to fix. Some cutscenes and transitions are affected, such as a boat ride in the first act.
