There has been a lot of talk about the UFC 300 event in recent weeks, particularly about putting Bo Nickal on the “main card” of this anniversary event. Aleksandar Rakić and Jiri Prochazka were “pushed” to the preliminary round, as was former champion Aljamain Sterling, who is fighting Calvin Kattar.
Many fans don’t like it at all, but Michael Bisping has had enough of such comments. He believes Nickal deserves to be the main part of the evening and cited the potential the American possesses as the main reason:
“I can understand why some people have a problem with that because it’s a pretty prestigious position, isn’t it?” You’re on “PPV.” But if you accept that logic and you’re Cody Garbrant or Deiveson Figueiredo, you’re going to be very angry. If you’re Jessica Andrade, you’ll be angry too. “There is no room for everyone because the menu is so full,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel.
“Bo Nickal has the potential to be one of the greatest champions we have ever seen. The American version of Khamzat Chimaev or Khabib Nurmagomedov. Bo Nickal has the potential to become the American Khabib Nurmagomedov and he is also a very good guy, phenomenal, undefeated… UFC knows what it has in its hands. “So if you don’t like it, don’t watch it,” Bisping explained.
Nickal’s potential is unquestionable, but it’s hard to avoid the impression that there are fighters more deserving of this spot than him right now. However, the UFC must have assumed that this move would be more profitable for them in the long run, so we can only accept such a situation. At least we will see Rakić and Prochazka a little sooner.
