Shakhtar Donetsk announced on Friday morning that they will play their Champions League home games at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. The Ukrainian club, last season in the European Cup, welcomed its opponents in Warsaw. “We are convinced that matches (…) will bring together both local football fans and the thousands of Ukrainians who currently reside in Germany and other European countries», said Dmytro Kyrylenko, CEO of the club. As a reminder, the Donetsk formation will be in pot 3 during the draw for the group stage of the Championswhich will take place on Thursday, August 31.
