After much bickering and many rumours, it is now clear that there will also be a fully-fledged Call of Duty this year. Modern Warfare 3, as the shooter is called, will be released on November 10 for PC and consoles and is a direct successor to Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2022. The fact that a sequel will be released in 2023 means that many items and advances can be taken from the predecessor. A leak now reveals the start of the beta and some other dates before the official announcement.
The Modern Warfare 3 beta begins in early October
A picture has appeared on the Internet where a gaming shop from England announces the start of the beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The authenticity cannot be verified, but the leak is consistent with information from very well-connected insider Tom Henderson. Supposedly the beta will start on Friday, October 6th. As already reported a few days ago, despite the impending takeover of Activision by Microsoft, there is still a contract with Sony that gives players on the Playstation 4 or Playstation 5 advantages.
Specifically, the first beta should only be accessible on the Playstation. A week later, however, there will be a second beta in which players on PC and Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S can also participate. In addition to the release, it is already clear when players can start with Early Access. And insiders even want to know the beginning of the first season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Details on the content of the beta should be released by Activision in the coming weeks. With a view to the past test phases of various CoD titles, however, it can be assumed that there will be a handful of multiplayer maps and a level cap. The teaser for the campaign also revealed little information. Among others, Captain Price and Vladimir Makarov, the villain from the original Modern Warfare 3 from 2011, will celebrate their return.
