Munich – Characteristic signs of an allergy to peanuts are:
- Itching and swelling of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat
- Itching, swelling and redness of the skin
- hives
- stomach pain
- vomiting and diarrhea
- Allergic rhinitis and asthmatic complaints
- Triggering or intensifying flare-ups of neurodermatitis
Anaphylactic shock triggers a reaction in multiple organs of the body, including the skin, respiratory system, digestive system, and cardiovascular system, all at the same time. When signs such as difficulty breathing and cardiac arrest appear, a food allergy can even be fatal.
These are possible signs of a anaphylactic shocks:
- Shortness of breath and difficulty breathing
- Severe swelling of the mucous membranes in the throat and mouth
- Severe drop in blood pressure
- cardiac arrest
