Diana Shnaider wins the Clarins Trophy against Emma Navarro

Diana Shnaider won this Sunday the Clarins Trophy, a WTA 125 that takes place at the Lagardère Paris Racing. The Russian, 62nd in the world rankings, won (6:2, 3:6, 6:4) against the American Emma Navarro (22nd), who had been hiking all week. Both have completed the American university tournament and, as at the Australian Open, will compete together in doubles against Roland-Garros.

Shnaider, 20, follows France’s Diane Parry (50th), who lost to Erika Andreeva in the second round this year (7:5, 7:5). Among the other Tricolores, Fiona Ferro (149th) reached the quarterfinals after clearly defeating Cristina Bucsa (70th), as did Alizé Cornet (99th), who played her 1000th professional game and will end her career after Roland-Garros . Varvara Gracheva (88th) reached the semi-finals after beating Katie Boulter (28th).
