Forza Motorsport: At launch, players have to do without a certain feature

On October 10th the eighth part of the Simcade series Forza Motorsport drives in the starting line-up. The developers recently presented the improvements to the AI and the new tire physics. In addition, an advanced Forza Tech engine is used as a graphics engine that enables ray tracing while driving. It is precisely this drive that ensures that there will be no split-screen mode in Forza Motorsport. At least at the start of the market, players have to do without the split screen and races against the couch partner.

Forza Motorsport: Online Multiplayer Changes

According to Chris Esaki, the creative director of developer Turn 10, it takes too much time to integrate a split-screen mode before release. There will also be no spectator mode in online multiplayer. It is not intended for players to participate in a feature multiplayer event and then just watch the race as a spectator rather than an active driver. In multiplayer, virtual racers also have to do without AI opponents and only drive against other Forza players. Finally, the behavior of the AI could have an impact on its own security rating.

Recently, the first vehicles and tracks included were announced. It is now clear that the licensed vehicles include the Audi RS e-tron GT, but also the Audi RS6 Avant and the current BMW M8 Coupé. The new Forza Motorsport will feature over 500 licensed cars. The new Forza Motorsport AI is also over 13 seconds faster than the AI from Forza Motorsport 7 on the Maple Valley track. Starting October 10, drivers on PC and Xbox Series X|S will be able to compete against the new NPCs. Xbox One owners, on the other hand, can only play the upcoming Forza Motorsport via Xbox Cloud Gaming with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription experience.

Forza Motorsport Collection:

  • As the developers of Forza Motorsport have announced, there will be no split-screen mode at launch. The background is the further developed Forza Tech engine, which enables ray tracing while driving. It just takes too much effort to integrate a split screen.
  • There will also be no spectator mode in online multiplayer.
  • In online multiplayer, the Forza players only compete with each other, AI opponents have to be avoided.
  • Starting October 10th, engines will roar in Forza Motorsport on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
