Gamescom 2023 is just around the corner. On August 22, i.e. next Tuesday, the event in Cologne will open with Geoff Keighley’s opening night live. The exhibition center will then be open to all visitors from August 23rd to 27th. In contrast to the E3, there are many big publishers and studios with Nintendo and Microsoft (Sony has canceled though). Of course, there is also a lot on offer for the PC audience; even a rumor about Half-Life is doing the rounds, even if it’s hardly part 3. New gameplay footage has now been announced for two more titles.
Cities: Skylines 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed for Gamescom
Paradox Interactive will launch with Cities: Skylines 2. The studio has invited a whole range of influencers to have fun with the development strategy live on site. The special thing about the campaign: the streamers are hanging in the air 50 meters above the Gamescom Center. So Skylines 2 live from the Cologne skyline. It will be the first public live stream of the game, which is set to launch on October 24, 2023. This time the focus should be more on the versions for Xbox and Playstation, but the PC version will not suffer, the developers promise.

Also at Gamescom is the DLC Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Anyone who has played The Witcher 3 expansions should be happy to see what CD Projekt has come up with this time. As part of the opening show, a fresh trailer for the add-on will be shown, which should also include gameplay. Phantom Liberty will be released on September 26, 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. With the DLC, the developers want to turn some systems of the action RPG upside down again. Above all, the game world should feel more alive and dynamic than in the vanilla version.
Microsoft in particular will be bringing out the heavy artillery again at Gamescom, as it has in previous years. Among other things, Forza Motorsport, Stalker 2 and Starfield have been confirmed for the Xbox show. The fair offers the publisher another opportunity to market their space role-playing game, which can be called the most important Xbox game of the year.
