Gladbach also benefits: Zakaria switches back to Hütter

Denis Zakaria is hoping to get his Ligue 1 career back on track. His sponsor Adi Hütter should also help. The Austrian, who has been the manager of AS Monaco since this season, will be working with Zakaria for the third time.

On Monday evening, Monaco made the signing of the 26-year-old midfielder perfect. According to their own statements, Juventus Turin will receive a transfer fee of 20 million euros, which is payable over four financial years. However, some ancillary costs should be deducted from this – including resale fees, which the club does not define in more detail.

However, it is documented that Borussia Mönchengladbach will receive part of the fee. In January 2022, Zakaria, who wore the Foals jersey in 125 Bundesliga games (eleven goals, seven assists, kicker average grade 3.38), was half a year before his contract expired for a basic amount of 4.5 million euros from Gladbach to Juve changed.

However, the 49-time Swiss national player was not happy with the Italian top club. He was loaned out to Chelsea just a few months after his arrival, part of a chaotic season at the Londoners, who finished 12th despite horrendous transfer spending. Zakaria has only played seven Premier League games. A further commitment was then not up for debate.

Zakaria signs until 2028

In France, the 1.91-meter giant beckons to play a leading role again, as he already did with the Young Boys Bern and in Gladbach under Hütter. Zakaria, whose contract in Turin would have been valid until 2026, signed until June 30, 2028. According to media reports, Juve would make a lot of money if he were to be resold.

Monaco, who missed out on a place in Europe after finishing sixth last season, started the new season with a 4-2 away win at Clermont Foot. Wissam Ben Yedder scored twice in Hütter’s competitive debut.
