After 133 Bundesliga games (six goals), 72 appearances in the 3rd division (one goal) and 33 games in the Bavarian regional league (two goals), Alexander Hack, who was born in Memmingen, is going abroad for the first time – in the past few weeks desert state of Saudi Arabia, which is booming in the football transfer business.

“After nine years together, there is of course a close connection between the player and the club, especially with a person like Alexander Hack, who is a great guy and a real team player and has always stood up for his teammates,” said sports director Christian Heidel in the farewell message . “Hacki approached us with the desire to move – and we didn’t want to put any obstacles in his way. Hacki is a Mainzer through and through, so our door is always open to him. We wish him all the best from the bottom of our hearts.”

Hack himself also had a few words to say about the club, team and fans: “The decision to change was not easy for me. Of course you have a lot of thoughts, because a change to Saudi Arabia doesn’t just mean a change to another country, but also into a different culture. I’ve had a lot of talks with those responsible and also with Robbie Fowler and I’m now excited to see for myself.” The central defender, who traveled to Elversberg for the team’s performance in the DFB Cup on Saturday and said goodbye here in person, is “looking forward to this new challenge.
