Next shock in Paris: Neymar apparently wants to leave PSG

The Kylian Mbappé transfer saga is keeping Paris busy this summer. But the next hammer is apparently in the offing: As “L’Equipe” reported on Monday, Neymar informed Paris President Nasser Al-Khelaifi on Sunday that he would like to leave the French capital this summer.

About two and a half weeks ago, the Brazilian publicly announced that he wanted to play for PSG next season. But now the plans are completely different – the speed dribbler dreams of a return to FC Barcelona. It is difficult to answer how the heavily indebted club should handle the transfer and salary. But “L’Equipe” quotes an anonymous source as saying that the Catalans are also very interested in signing.

There are currently exchanges between the clubs because Ousmane Dembelé wants to move to the French capital. Barcelona head coach Xavi has already confirmed the ex-Dortmund’s impending departure – and expressed his disappointment with Dembelé’s decision.

Neymar, meanwhile, would no longer be in Lionel Messi’s shadow in Barcelona – and later in Paris. In August 2017, Neymar switched from FC Barcelona to PSG for the record sum of 222 million euros. In Catalonia, the 124-time Brazilian international (77 goals) experienced the most successful period of his career – with the Blaugrana in 2015 he won the treble of the Champions League, Spanish championship and Copa del Rey.

PSG fans “visited” Neymar

According to “L’Equipe”, one reason for the farewell thoughts was a “visit” by Parisian fans in front of Neymar’s house in early May, who had demanded the departure of the injury-prone technician. With PSG, Neymar has won five French league titles and three French Cups. His résumé includes 173 competitive games for Paris, in which he scored 118 goals and provided 77 more assists.

If Mbappé switched to Real this summer and Neymar got his way, the Clasico on the Iberian Peninsula would definitely be richer by a special story.
