"positive conversations": Mbappé back in PSG team training

The internal disputes between PSG and Kylian Mbappé have apparently been settled for the time being. “After very constructive and positive talks between Paris St. Germain and Kylian Mbappé ahead of the Lorient game, the player was reintegrated into first-team training this morning,” PSG said on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Frenchman was recently no longer part of the team because he does not want to extend his contract in Paris, which expires in 2024.

Instead, he is reportedly aiming for a free transfer to Real Madrid next summer. Those responsible for PSG wanted to prevent this scenario by either convincing Mbappé to extend his contract or selling him for a lavish transfer fee in this transfer window.

Disappointing start to the season from PSG

However, both options played no role in Mbappé’s considerations, as he also announced to PSG boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi in a one-to-one conversation during the week, according to “Le Parisien”. The striker plans to stay in Paris under all circumstances and to fulfill his contract.

The club had already excluded its superstar from the Asia trip at the end of July because of his thoughts on a change, after which he did not train with the first team, but only with retired players such as Julian Draxler or Leandro Paredes.

Even at the disappointing start of the league on Saturday against Lorient (0-0), Mbappé only sat in the stands. That could obviously change again on Matchday 2 next weekend against FC Toulouse (20 August).
