Remnant II: Trivium’s Matt Heafy contributes new song Wielder of the Plague to the latest trailer.

Trivium vocalist and guitarist Matthew Kiichi Heafy has recorded a new song titled Wielder of the Plague for Remnant II.

Developer Gunfire Games’ game has already sold over a million copies in just four days since its release on July 25th.

A portion of the song is specially tailored for the trailer, and the full version of the song will be released soon on Gearbox Publishing’s YouTube channel.

In support of the new song, Heafy, who is an avid streamer himself, will be taking part in a series of Remnant II live streams following the current European tour with his band Trivium.

“Video games and video game music have been a part of my life since I was five. I beat my first video game, Super Mario Bros., when I was five, then I played RPGs like Final Fantasy and eventually first-person shooters like Doom. When I first heard Doom’s music at the age of eleven, I knew that one day I would be composing music like this for video games. But I didn’t know metal existed, nor did I know the music in the game was metal,” says Heafy. “Fast forward to 2023. I am very excited, honored and immensely grateful to have been asked to compose music for Remnant II to help promote the game. I can’t wait for you guys to finally hear it.”

The song Wielder of the Plague is released while Trivium is already halfway through their European tour.
