It feels like rumors about Nintendo’s next console have been popping up every week for the past few months, and the claim that the Super Nintendo Switch/Nintendo Switch 2 would be launching this fall seemed pretty credible. Unfortunately, that is apparently no longer the case.
Eurogamer and VGC, both of which have good track records when it comes to Nintendo reports, have learned from multiple sources that the Switch sequel has been pushed back from late 2024 to the first quarter of 2025.
One of the reasons for this is said to be that Nintendo needs more time to refine its own games before releasing a new console. But this would also mean that the Nintendo Switch 2 follows in the original’s footsteps and launches in February or March 2019. Never change a successful concept and so on.
