Russia tightens the muzzle: war pictures under ban

With Economy of Death, Putin is making war deaths worthwhile in Ukraine

Ukrainian forces have gained ground in the Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions. As they drew closer to Robotyne in western Zaporizhia, they also recorded successes in Uroshaine, in the Donetsk region.

At the same time, Russia’s plans became known: the government is proposing to ban the publication of pictures and videos showing their military actions. In particular, images that could show the Russian military in a bad light are the focus of this proposal. Violators could face a hefty fine of up to 500,000 rubles or even up to three years in prison. But there is one exception: content coming from the Russian Ministry of Defense is not affected by this ban.

A similar law has already been passed in Crimea, which Russia claims as its own. This was after Ukrainian attacks on the Crimean Bridge.
