“With Stray Gods, we wanted to try something new that perfectly blended the things we love most about Summerfall – compelling stories, unique characters, beautiful music, and exciting adventures. That and working with some of the best people in the business makes us very proud of what we’re able to bring to our fans today,” said David Gaider, creative director of Summerfall Studios.
“We’re excited to take fans on this musical role-playing journey and hope they fall in love with the game and its story, which we’ve put our hearts into, as we have.”
To celebrate the launch, the team released a brand new trailer:
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is set in a modern fantasy world where college dropout Grace is given the powers of a muse – powers she needs to uncover the truth behind her predecessor’s death before time runs out.
In this hand-illustrated role-playing musical, players decide who Grace will ally with, who to trust, and who to betray.
You must weave your way through the world with charm, negotiation, and strength as original, interactive music plays by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory (Journey, Banner Saga), Tripod (musicians Scott Edgar, Steven Gates, and Simon Hall ) and the Australian Eurovision musician Montaigne (Jess Cerro).
The game is fully orchestrated, with an all-star cast that makes players feel like they’re right on the stage. With thousands of possible variations based on your choices, you can customize the soundtrack for your own unique musical experience. No passage is like the other – how will the curtain fall?
A video game for musical fans and a musical for video game fans, Stray Gods is a compelling tale of hope, self-discovery and breaking new ground.
