The Last Ronin: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' darkest chapter comes in the style of God of War from Germany

THQ Nordic and the German development studio Black Forest Games bring the darkest of all chapters from the universe of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the PC as well as the Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5. TMNT: The Last Ronin takes place in a “dystopian-post-apocalyptic” New York, in which a lone surviving turtle seeks revenge for the death of her entire family. At the presentation, an “adult story” was promised.

Compared to other comics, series or games in the universe of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Hero Turles, The Last Ronin, published in 2020 by Turtles inventor Kevin Eastman and authors Tom Waltz and Peter Laird, tells a dark and tragic story that is reminiscent of a adult audience. When it was announced in March this year, the developers said the game should deliver similar experiences to God of War.

One against all, all against one

As the last remaining fighter, one of the Turtles, driven by hatred and desperation, takes the weapons of his three fallen brothers and bitterly embarks on a lonely vendetta to avenge the death of his family. Just who is this last ninja turtle, who is “The Last Ronin” and how did his brothers die? The hero will meet new friends and old enemies on his very personal vendetta.

Who is The Last Ronin? In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lonely surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless quest to seek justice for his lost family.

What horrifying events destroyed his entire family and turned New York into a crumbling, post-apocalyptic nightmare?

All will be revealed in this Turtle story, where longtime friends become foes and new allies appear in the most unexpected of places. Can the surviving Turtle triumph?

However, the publisher THQ Nordic has not yet mentioned a possible period for the presentation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin in the context of its announcement on Twitter. A 46-second teaser gets players in the mood for the game, but it only shows concept art.

The darkest chapter is developed in Germany

The darkest of all chapters is being developed by the German developer Black Forest Games from Offenburg, which has been part of THQ Nordic since 2017 and most recently for Destroy All Humans! and Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed was responsible.
