Ukraine builds drone shield against Russian attacks

In his recent video address, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the crucial role of drones in defending his country against Russian attack. “They are not only the ‘eyes’ on the front lines, but also protect human lives by being deployed in situations where human lives used to be risked,” Zelenskyy said on Wednesday evening. Ukraine is stepping up efforts to significantly increase production of these UAVs. The importance of international drone deliveries was also highlighted by Zelenskyy.

During his recent visits to the front lines, Zelenskyy reported that the armed forces are asking about drones, electronic warfare technology and anti-aircraft systems in particular.

Ukraine has been defending itself against Russian attacks for almost a year and a half. In recent weeks, drones have played a key role, especially in defending against Russian targets, as illustrated by the attack on the warship Olenegorski gornjak in the Black Sea in early August.
