WTA ranking: Samsonova gains 6 places, Garcia still under threat

No major change this Monday in the WTA ranking, at the top of which is still the trio Iga Swiatek-Aryna Sabalenka-Jessica Pegula, as well as Elena Rybakina (4th), Ons Jabeur (5th) and Caroline Garcia (6th). The main fluctuation is the jump of six places of the Russian Liudmila Samsonova (12th), finalist Sunday, in Montreal.

The French Caroline Garcia remains sixth, but the Lyonnaise will enter a risk zone for her ranking, starting with the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati this week, where she will have to defend the points of her final success last year.

Among the other Tricolores, the trend is rather downward, as for Varvara Gracheva (45th) and Alizé Cornet (66th), who respectively lose five and six places. The other two French women in the top 100 are Clara Burel (62nd) and Diane Parry (75th).
